ADRA Mongolia continues to help dzud victims with food relief

The Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA) Mongolia is continuing its efforts in helping over 1000 families who have been affected by the dzud in five soums of both Arkhangai and Bayankhongor Aimags.

With the support of ADRA Czech Republic, ADRA Mongolia is distributing immediate food relief which includes: 75 kgs flour, 3 bottles of sunflower oil, 1kg sugar, 1kg salt, and 1 packet of tea, for each family. The food relief efforts also include distributing multi-vitamins for mothers and infants, as well as fuel and medicine for local hospitals.
ADRA Mongolia cooperated with Aimag officials in choosing families to help, who have been worst affected by the dzud. These include families who have older members or young children, and also single mothers.
In February this year, ADRA Mongolia has already responded to dzud affected areas of Zavkhan Aimag, delivering emergency food aid to 450 severely affected families.
