Adding value to your food – “Community Food System”

ADRA Mongolia has started new project entitled “Community Food System” in Dornogobi and Zavkhan provinces of Mongolia funded by ADRA Australia.

Celebrated International Day of Persons with Disabilities


Around 10% of the world’s population lives with disabilities, while 20% of the poor populations in developing countries are disabled, according to the latest research. Many of the world’s disabled people face barriers that prevent them from participating in normal society, and many are often forced to live on the margins of society. They are denied basic rights such as studying and getting health and social welfare services.

Permaculture training teaches greater effectiveness with less effort!

The Food Security Program of ADRA Mongolia has successfully conducted “Permaculture” training from July 14-28, in cooperation with the Australian Southern Cross Permaculture Institute.  The training was conducted in Tosontsengel soum of Zavkhan province.

Microfinance Cooperatives formed

The Micro Economic Development (MED) program of ADRA Mongolia organized a four day meeting for cooperatives to share experience, in Ulaanbaatar city.  A total of 18 leaders from newly established cooperatives, Self Help Group members and people who were interested in establishing cooperatives participated in the meeting.

Tobacco control laws and Students teaching teachers

The Health Education Against Tobacco (HEAT) project is working with the Legal Department of Ulaanbaatar city’s Governor’s office to improve tobacco control in Ulaanbaatar city. The HEAT project (supported by AusAid and ADRA Australia) team and the Legal Department established a working group on tobacco control, which is headed by the Deputy Governor of Ulaanbaatar city.

Special Certificate Required to Sell Tobacco

Last month the Health Education against Tobacco (HEAT) project (supported by AusAid and ADRA Australia) organized a press conference in close collaboration with the Legal Department of the Ulaanbaatar city Governor’s office regarding new regulation on sale of tobacco products, according to which special permission is required for business entities to sell tobacco.
