Zavkhan aimag B. Bayarjargal experience: as of 28th December 2007
I began to smoke little by little in 1989 right after being recruited by army. In the army, it is very common that people that visit soldiers to give cigarettes. When I think back, I had spent a lot of money buying cigarettes. I used to smoke 20 cigarettes per day that cost at minimum 15000 MNT per month, 200000 MNT per year. Through smoking I began to have problems with my heart. My wife and children encouraged me to quit smoking and through the ADRA project I was able to quit, this made my family very happy. It took a lot of patience and courage to quit smoking, but now that I have been able to quit smoking I believe I have a responsibility to help other people within my community to quit smoking.
